Folder to search the folders that would be used with Search movies
IMDB Files (every time) Plan ahead, check for hard drive space first. Maximum required if all files are used
Get the plain text from the closes FTP site and you will see movies.list.gz (mandatory), actors.list.gz, actresses.list.gz ...... I2M does not support these files for the moment: german-aka-titles, italian-aka-titles, iso-aka-titles, biographies.list.gz and laserdisc Download times depends on your connection and FTP site. Decompress them in the .List folder you configure I2M to Search Go Tools - Import movies In the grid, click the checkbox of the files that you want to import. You may select shutdown to completely shutdown the computer after the process (make sure that it's the only planned process during this time). If you want to distribute the database in a smaller size, enter a year From year (see below) Click Start and be very patient. On Pentium 4 2.8Ghz , it takes around 6-7 hours for all the files. In this case, we suggest to run it overnight or during the day when the computer is not in use. Distributing the resulted database to friends/family/other computers (for advanced users) Because of the time it takes and not to overload their FTP sites, we included 2 ways to prepare the data to be compressed by you for them, but they must have the same I2M version as you. 1. Big file (348MB) and easy Quit I2M. Compress only the Data folder. See below for a suggested name of the compressed file. On the destination (friends/family/computers) folder, uncompress the file in their configured Data folder. (e.g. C:\Program Files\McGrath Info Solution\IMDB 2 MIS\data) 2. Small file (222MB) but more steps Go Tools - Import movies Click Distribute and it will remove the index .CDX, remove the .CDX pointer in the .DBF header and creates a .MIS file with the suggested name. Enter a year (wait a few minute) in From year and a subfolder named Data9999 will be created under the Data folder from that year to now. (e.g. 2003,2004....). Older movies won't be found but if you record more recent movies only, it will give you a much smaller file for distribution. You can have for example a data subfolder with all the DATA and DATA2003. New information on older movies are less probable to change and you will only need to change the Data Folder. Quit I2M The name is: IMDB2MIS_DATA_V_YYYY-MM-DD_XXXX V = Current software version YYYY-MM-DD is the date of movies.list when imported XXXX = Year to now (e.g. 2003,2004....) Once compressed (222MB) or From year 2003 (35MB), go into I2M Go Tools - Import movies Click Reindex and wait a few minutes. This way, you removed 126MB from the compressed file. On the destination (friends/family/computers), uncompress the file in their Data folder (e.g. C:\Program Files\McGrath Info Solution\IMDB 2 MIS\data) Go into I2M Go Tools - Import movies Click Reindex and wait a few minutes.

Example: MY_TECH_VIDEOBLOG_DIVX-TECHMAN.AVI MY.TECH.VIDEOBLOG.DIVX-TECHMAN.AVI You created I2MWORDREMOVE.TXT with this value: DIVX would then be: With: My Tech Videoblog - Without: My Tech Videoblog Divx-Techman
- MISCERT.TXT contains the age for the "rating-age". It is given by looking at different web sites, when found in English or French), and by Interpreting the age from the rating found. When unknown 21 or 18 was given.
