Creating a .MIS for a movie

Description:
This video show you how to create a. MIS once you have the IMDB database installed. We also added the step for the Source URL from the IMDB.COM and adding a picture to the movie

   Add/Change:

  •  Add: An integrated help is now available

   Add/Change:

  •  Add: New icons

   Correction:

  •  The TV.COM, IMDB.COM page had a minor changed, again, and it would not extract the cast and a few others fields properly.

   Notes:

  •  It should work better with Vista. If the 2 clicks for movie is not shown, it's that the default player was changed for that file extension.  
  •  We recommend that you upgrade to this version.

   Add/Change:

  •  Add: Support for .TS playback
  •  Add: Extract the release date, keywords
  •  Add:  If the filename has "Unrated" or "Extended" in it, the subtitle, if empty, will add the word. For example, The Exorcist was shown on TV in it's Extended version.

   Correction:

  •  The IMDB.COM page had a minor changed, again, and it would not extract the cast and a few others fields properly.

   Add/Change:

  •  Add: The context menu are now activated by default to simplify the "2 clicks for a movie" for new users
  •  Change: Will now take the MPAA rating value to give the age to a movie. Improve the age when no MPAA value is found for movie. It's now based on the first country of origin and it's classification if any.
  •  Change: When selecting "Edit a .MIS" in the context menu,  it will be selected by default.

   Correction:

  •  The IMDB.COM page had a major changed and it would not extract most of the information.
  •  Some minor correction extracting from tv.com (i.e. long episode name)

   Add/Change:

  •  Add: You can now give another extension other than .TXT(default) when a creating a text version from the .MIS
  •  Add: At the end of the text version, the name of each files and the number of bytes are now listed. This may help detect possible corruption when transferring files. It may also let you know if you have the same version of a file.
  •  Change: Will no longer extract, from IMDB.COM, a picture if one already exist for a movie

   Correction:

  •  The IMDB.COM page changed and it would not extract the cast or the bigger picture.

   Add/Change:

  •  Add: Can now Import chapters (cut and paste) so to make it easier to build them. 3 styles exist: barnesandnoble.com (99. CCCCC [MM:SS]), The Media Center Show (HH:MM:SS CCCC) and VideoRedo (HH:MM:SS)
  •  Add: Remove S99E99 from the Search for (first time) to make it easier to search only for the show and episode name on tv.com.
  •  Change: Change the name from Info 2 MIS to Info2MIS. Will make it easier to find it on the web!

   Correction:

   Add/Change:

  •  Add: New Command line option:  /IMDBLOCAL. The local database create from the IMDB FTP files will be taken.

   Add/Change:

  •  Add: New Command line option: /S to operate in conjunction with /IMDB. No screen will be visible for those who want to use Info2MIS with their applications.
  •  Add: In the Options page: Possibility to activate the Context Menu in Windows Explorer, modify the list of files extension(i2mextension.txt) and modify the list of words to remove(i2mwordremove.txt).
  •  Add: Create a .TXT from the .MIS when the .MIS is created
  •  Add: New tutorial demonstrating the Context Menu in Windows Explorer
  •  Change: When playing/pausing a media, the graphic will take that into account.

    Example: If you always record a TV show in the same folder, you can have tv.com to be the default.
    It must be named after an existing one (case-insensitive) Example: TV.com or TV.COM or tv.com

   Add/Change:

  •  Add: Extract information/picture directly from imdb.com(90% accurate to find the title) in batch or single mode. Use the database to get more information (trivia, goofs...).
  •  Add: Added a Picture page to look at the main picture for each title.
  •  Add: Support for other extension: ISO, IMG, AMZN (Amazon Unbox)
  •  Add: impawards.com in the Search web via a Google.com search (nice posters)
  •  Change: In the Web browser page, when adding a Source URL, you can add or replace the URL

  •  Change: When extracting from tv.com, the URL will be the summary page if the episode is bigger than 100 characters

  •  Change: Reorganized the button/check box in the main page of the form Create/update a .MIS .

  Notes:

  •  This version mostly concentrate on the creation of a .MIS directly from imdb.com. The result will be based on the how clean the name of the file is. Use i2mwordremove.txt to remove unwanted word in a title. The order of each word is very important (e.g. DIVX6, DIVX5, DIVX....). If you put DIVX first, 5 or 6 will stay there.
  •  The version is somewhat stable but with no documentation yet. It will be provided when all is done.
  •  The IMDB generated database was not modified

   Add/Change:

  •  Add: Access to many tags
  •  Add: Extract movie pictures from: amazon.com, amazon.co.uk, dvdempire.com, dvdtown.com, rottentomatoes.com. You must be on the main page of the title.
  •  Add: Extract information from: tv.com, amazon.com, dvdempire.com You must be on the main page of the title/episode.
  •  Add: Create chapter for video, audio (i.e. podcast)

  Notes:

     It is a beta and will have a few bugs but it was used for a few month's with the IMDB database now here with good results when used with AVI (mainly)
  •  Support page will be IMDB2MIS page for the moment
  •  IMDB2MIS is discontinued and replace by Info2MIS
  •  Many additions/corrections was made but the principal of IMDB 2 MIS still remains.
  •  MIS Info Video will have to be change to support the pictures. For now, you can tag pictures to indicate who is in it with the credit tag.
  •  The current IMDB2MIS database is still compatible

 

IMDB2MIS below

v1.2.1 (2005-11-14)

    Add/Change:

  •  Add: Support for the video files that do not have a .MIS attached to them. If the video file has a .NFO or .TXT with the same name, that information will be displayed. The order will be: .MIS, .NFO, .TXT. We strongly think that a video file with a .MIS is more practical in the long run.
  •  This will help make it more appealing with our new Associates Program

    Correction:

  •  None

    Note:

  •  Current serial numbers (from v.1.0.0 +) are still valid
  •  Some of the links within the application might not work, add .htm at the end of the link

  •  Add: You can extract part of the database to distribute a much lower files (e.g. 1995 and up)
